$7M Homewise Allocation Furthers Albuquerque Revitalization

New Mexico-based Homewise, Inc. has operated since 1986 to provide homeownership opportunities and to support the long-term financial stability of its clients. Homewise empowers its customers with knowledge and financial skills, provides them with affordable homes and lending products, and supports them as partners both before and after the home purchase.

Two projects will receive support from the $7M allocation provided by the most recent HPN transaction. The scattered site Homewise Albuquerque Revitalization Initiative will create 16 affordable homes for sale, at least half of which will be available to low-income buyers. An additional 16 townhomes will be built in the downtown Albuquerque Silver Townhomes project, with 20 percent or more offered for sale to low-income buyers.

Through each project, Homewise will provide financial counseling, homebuyer education, and affordable lending.

In previous HPN funding, Homewise received a total of $13M to construct 53 affordable homes for transformative impact in a blighted area of Santa Fe.
