A Look Ahead

As the calendar year winds to a close, we reflect gratefully on our experiences over the last twelve months. This year brought continued partnership with great organizations nationwide to promote the development of new for-sale housing and community service facilities that offer meaningful resources to neighborhoods and residents. We are fortunate to have real passion for what we do and also to be able to see the impact of our work on the lives of individuals and families. Whether a project is close to our home in Missouri or taking shape in another state, it’s an honor to coordinate with leaders who share the mission to restore homeownership and economic opportunity to more Americans.

In addition to our work with federal NMTCs, we took a major step in mid-2019 to expand our advocacy for affordable homeownership through state legislation. The effort to introduce state-level affordable homeownership tax credits is one in which we are proud to welcome the support of any organization or individual who shares our commitment to restoring this cornerstone of the American Dream. We’ve organized a new coalition – Homeownership Within Reach – that will promote affordable homeownership through specific policy proposals that incent private investment and development.

Stepping into 2020 and a new decade, we look forward to working on more projects that create affordable homeownership opportunities and to working with current and new partners on expanding access to the American Dream. Together, we are opening doors.
