Vice President of Operations for Smith NMTC Associates, LLC, Tabor Burke has nearly two decades experience in real estate law, corporate redevelopment, taxes, and compliance. In addition to overseeing the operations of the company, Tabor manages client and affiliate compliance matters for an NMTC investment portfolio that exceeds $285 million. Her keen eye for process improvement and talent for implementing operational efficiencies led to the creation of the firm’s extensive compliance management system. Tabor also writes New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) allocation applications on behalf of the firm.
An attorney with private-practice and corporate experience, Tabor joined Smith NMTC Associates, LLC, in 2010 following nearly a decade as senior counsel to The May Department Stores Company. Her earlier work included an associate’s position at the St. Louis law firm of Ziercher & Hocker, P.C., where she specialized in real estate law.
Tabor is dedicated to improving distressed communities and has served on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity St. Louis for five years, also acting as the organization’s general counsel, a member of the law committee, and as a project volunteer. Additionally, she enjoyed entrepreneurial success with the development of a nationally distributed line of allergen-free foods for children.
Tabor earned her law degree from the Washington University School of Law where she received the Scholars in Law Award. She received her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University graduating Summa Cum Laude.
